Special Called Joint Meeting of Town Council and I/EDA

Town Council and the Town of Tazewell’s Industrial/Economic Development Authority (I/EDA)held a joint public meeting on Monday, July 6, 2026. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the redevelopment plan for the vacant Ramey Lot property owned by the I/EDA. Kevin Jones, a consultant from With Architecture, presented Round 2 of the conceptual plans that reflect the feedback he received during the prior Round. Kevin presented two options, Scheme C and Scheme D, with Scheme C being the preferred option based on current feedback.

These are not the final plans but do reflect many of the goals envisioned for this project. The next phase of this project will include procuring the needed grant funding for any property abatements, obtaining engineering assessments, securing construction plans, and eventual construction.

The photos included represent Scheme C, and the options it provides for various flexible layouts. A walking path is included. The fields could also be utilized for community events, in addition to the support for soccer fields, T-Ball, and pickleball courts.
