Veterans Day Parade
Event Details
The Veterans Day Parade will be November 8, at 2pm. Please note, we have made significant changes to be able to honor the Veterans during this time, as we do each year. In order to follow social distancing & to keep everyone safe, we have modified the parade route & traditional ceremony. The parade will begin at Tazewell High School, and will travel down Maplewood, turn right to Carline, another right to Tazewell Ave, make a left on Riverside Drive, a left to Fairgrounds Rd, another left to Main Street, and onto Fincastle Turnpike where the parade will conclude at the former Ramey lot. Once at the lot, we will park the Veterans so that they may see and hear our guest speaker & ceremony. We will serve the traditional Veterans meal to go style, delivered to their vehicles.
Unfortunately this means we cannot have floats with groups of people riding on them, nor can anyone march in the parade this year. We encourage the families of Veterans to please decorate your vehicle & drive them in the parade. Organizations wishing to ride in the parade, are welcome to do so safely inside a vehicle. We hope the community will decorate their yards and businesses in honor of this event, especially those along the parade route. You may park your vehicle along the route, Riverside Drive has plenty of space, as well as Main Street. This route will also travel by the majority of the Veterans banners that will soon be going up.
