Town Council Meeting September 8, 2026

The monthly Town Council meeting was held on September 8, 2026.

At their September 8th meeting, Town Council recognized new local business, A Hope and Future Ministry, which is a faith-based addiction recovery center located in Suite 100 at 300 Main Street. Jill Howell and Corey Sparks partnered to create this non-profit organization, and their Gift & Thrift Store provides needed work opportunities and stability to women on their recovery journey.

In addition, Council approved:
– a $500 sponsorship for the Tazewell County Chamber of Commerce‘s annual Oktobrewfest event, set for Saturday, October 3rd on Main Street from 5 pm – 10 pm
– a $500 contribution to Southwest Virginia Community College’s annual Festival of the Arts
