Town Council Meeting August 11, 2026

The monthly Town Council meeting was held on August 11, 2026.

At their August 11th meeting, Town Council recognized Town of Tazewell Public Works Employees, Edward Hill and Glenn Illig. In an act of kindness in our community, both recently assisted a transit patron to ensure their safe crossing of the road.

Town Council also recognized Irma Mitchell for her many years of contributions to our community as the Tazewell County Fair Coordinator. In addition to the Fair, Irma has a long history of volunteerism and a desire to make our home a better and brighter place, as witnessed in our Main Street District through her hand in the formation of Tazewell Today.

For their Business Recognitions, Town Council recognized local law firm Altizer, McGraw & French. David Altizer, representing fellow partners Alan McGraw and Mandy French, shared that their firm has been operating on Main Street in various partner names since the late 1880’s, which is an incredible accomplishment.
