Shop With a Hero Held

Community Thanksgiving
In the spirit of the holiday season, we would like to extend our gratitude to each of the volunteers and sponsors who helped with Community Thanksgiving dinner on November 19th! As we have seen demonstrated
The Executive Mansion, Virginia’s historic “first house” has announced that the theme for its 2015 Holiday Tree will be “Celebrating Virginia’s Localities.” Each locality is asked to submit one hand-crafted ornament that uniquely represents their community. The Town will be accepting handmade ornaments from the community through August 31 at Town Hall or by mail to Town of Tazewell 201 N Central Ave, Tazewell, VA 24651. Please include your name, address and phone number. Even though only one ornament will be chosen to represent the Town, all remaining entries will decorate the tree in the Town Council Chambers.
Guidelines:
• No larger than 6”
• Artist/Artisan reside in Tazewell area
• Adult contest, children contests in the future
• Handmade ornaments only
• Should depict unique features of Tazewell; historic buildings, person, event, or nature.
The holiday tree will be on view to the public throughout the season and will be seen by thousands of visitors. This is an opportunity for our town to showcase our history and pride as a community.
