Shop With a Hero Held

The Town of Tazewell Christmas Parade Committee extends a heartfelt thank you for the community support that made last year’s Christmas Parade a fun-filled and exciting event. The number of marching bands increased, the entries were diverse and festively decorated, and the weather cooperated. It took a great deal of participant support to make this happen, and all who did so deserve kudos. The compliments given about the parade tells us that the fruits of their efforts showed that Tazewell is truly a wonderful and unique little town with big hearts.
This year’s Tazewell Christmas Parade is the first Saturday of December, so mark your calendars for Dec. 3, 2016 at 3pm. Start making your plans, and encourage your church, families, friends, businesses and community groups to join in the festivities. As we are still celebrating the town’s 150th birthday, this year’s theme will be “Back to the Future-150 Years & Counting.” In addition to the parade the Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Friday, December 2nd at 5:30 pm.
The Tazewell Christmas parade is more than a lineup and walk down Main Street. It requires team building, a giving spirit, and the vision to turn something ordinary into an awesome creative event that celebrates not just Christmas, but the true meaning of Christmas. If you have never participated in this amazing event, we hope that you will join us a a first timer. Also if you have participated before, we hope that you will join us once again this year. Come represent your church, business, school club, sports team, or civic organization.
We want to grow this special event to be even bigger and better than last year. So please register your group now, because without your support, we can’t make this happen. Registration deadline is Friday, Nov. 18th. There is no cost to enter and ribbons will be given in each category.
Imagine the joyous smiles on the sweet faces of the young children and young at heart as they wave to you as you pass by. We all could use some extra joy! That in itself, should encourage you to register TODAY.
