NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to Virginia Code §15.2-2204, Town Charter Secs. 2-1, 3-8 and 6-2, and Town Code Sec. 23-6, that on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 7:20 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building for the Town of Tazewell (“Town”), located at 211 Central Avenue, Tazewell, Virginia, the Tazewell Town Council and the Town of Tazewell Planning Commission will hold a JOINT PUBLIC HEARING, to provide the citizens of the Town and opportunity to be heard with respect to a proposal for the Town to consider changes made in Virginia Code ”15.2-2292 and 22.1-289.02 prompting the need to AMEND Town Code Sec. 23-100.1, “Family Day Homes,” regarding the Town Zoning Administrator’s issuance of zoning permits for a home-based child care residence (formerly “family day home”).

Copies of the proposed Ordinance amendment are available for review and inspection during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) at the Town of Tazewell Municipal Building, as referenced hereinabove.
