WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR (FULL TIME POSITION)
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant performance in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Plant Operations
• Operate and monitor pumps, motors, blowers, clarifiers, filters, and control systems.
• Monitor SCADA system and adjust plant processes as necessary.
• Collect wastewater samples and perform basic laboratory testing.
• Adjust chemical feed systems (polymers, etc.).
• Monitor sludge processing and disposal operations.
Compliance & Reporting
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Complete daily operational logs and reports.
• Prepare and submit discharge monitoring reports (DMRs).
• Follow NPDES permit requirements.
• Assist during regulatory inspections.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Inspect plant equipment for proper operation.
• Troubleshoot pumps, valves, motors, and instrumentation.
• Assist with minor mechanical repairs.
• Report major repair needs.
Safety Requirements
• Follow OSHA regulations and plant safety policies.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Follow confined space entry procedures.
