Veteran’s Day Parade 2013

The second annual Veteran’s Day Parade was held Sunday, November 10, 2013.

The parade began at Tazewell High School, and ended with a ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial on Main Street in Tazewell. Over 160 Veterans were in attendance. A meal was served for the Veterans at the Main Street Methodist Church fellowship hall, on the corner of Main Street.

All area Veteran’s were invited to participate in the parade and meal. Transportation was provided to any Veteran which is not able to walk the parade route. This year the Veterans Parade Committee teamed up with the USMC Toys for Tots Campaign and asked all parade onlookers to bring a a toy and help provide a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. Toy collection spots were strategically placed throughout the parade route, to collect donations.

We extend a sincere thanks to all those who participated in the parade and toy drive!
