Tazewell Train Station Fundraisers

Efforts are continuing on to raise the required matching funds for the restoration grant for the Tazewell Train Station. We are excited to announce a brick donor program. A limited number of custom engraved bricks will be sold for $50.00 per brick. Each brick can contain up to 3 custom lines of your text, each of 18 characters in length. Each brick sold will be used in a beautiful entrance path for the Tazewell Train Station!

To order your brick and be part of this wonderful project, download the brick donor form here, and then mail the form along with your payment to:

A fundraising banquet was held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the VIP Room in the 4-Way Shopping Plaza. While guests dined on a delicious buffet of chicken and beef, architect Barry Rakes discussed plans for the restoration.

Brothers Reverend Rusty Hatfield and Jerry Hatfield delighted the audience by sharing memories of the Tazewell Train Station and of their father, Major Hatfield, who served as the last station agent.

Ticket sales for the dinner and the silent auction netted over $4,200.00, which will be used as part of the matching money required for the restoration grant.

We would like to extend our thanks to each of the silent auction donors:

Kathleen Allison, Elizabeth Bennett, Between Friends, Delores Blankenship, Crystals Kut N Edge, Historic Crab Orchard Museum, Sharon Davis, Fisher & Company, Flowing Waters Gift Shop, Jenny’s Closet, Lauren Jones, Irma Mitchell, Dr. Terry Mullins, Susan Reeves, Tammy Smith, The Villa Restaurant, and Your Grate Escape.
