Officer Shannon Farthing has served the community for over 13 years, in several areas, including working at the Tazewell County Animal Shelter, and as a Special Police Officer for Tazewell County.  Her trainings include Entry Level Animal Control, Concealed Weapons Training, Virginian Humane Investigator Training, Animal Euthanasia, and RADAR.

    Until recently Officer Farthing worked with the Danville police Department.  She gradated from Southwest Law Enforcement Academy in Bristol, VA.
