"Working" at the Heritage Festival

  

 

   Mrs. Sinkford started working with the Town of Tazewell in 2001. Throughout her prior careers she has received several awards including Displaying Positive Attitude, Commitment to Improve Job Performance, Promoting Successful Teamwork, Giving Good Service, and Displaying a Positive Attitude. Flora also received Customer Service Plaque for her outstanding work. 

   On August 15, 2003 Flora was given the position of Administrative Assistant with the Tazewell Police Department, where her duties include dispatching, working with the Incident Based Reporting System, and serving on the town’s Beautification Committee. She has been certified as a Communications Officer through the National Emergency Communications Institute, NECI. She attended Basic Dispatcher School at the Southwest Law Enforcement Academy located in Bristol.

   Throughout the years Flora has been a Notary of Public, receiving a Clerk Typist Certificate from Southwest Virginia Community College and has recently graduated with a Certificate of Law Enforcement. She was also inducted into the college’s Hall of Fame. She is a very active member of the Midway Church of Christ.
