Summerfest was held in Tazewell from Thursday, July 23 – Saturday, July 25, 2015. On Thursday evening, the festival kicked off with the 3rd Breaking Down the Walls praise and worship night at the Main Street Mini-Park. The event was hosted by Gary Riddle, and featured guest speaker Reverend Hairston, with musical performances by Patricia Spriggs Smith, The Praise Worship Team, and Josh Branch. On Friday night, the festival continued at Tazewell High School with a musical performance on the school lawn with the Band of Oz, before wrapping up on Saturday on Main Street with a full day of events. Saturday’s festival featured a variety of vendors, along with bike, flower, and quilt shows. A full line of performers kept the Mini-Park abuzz, while the Altizer Stage hosted a K-9 training demo, the incredibly entertaining Mark Lippard, a Tai Kwon Do demo, and Randy Lamb Davis. The Tazewell County Historical Society held an open house. It also sponsored walking tours of Main Street and bus tours of the Tazewell area, which included a stop at the Tazewell Train Station for their open house. The fun continued into the night with the Music on Main & Cruise-In that featured the JC/BC band.
