Great American Eclipse Photo Re-creation @ Main Street

On May 28, 1900 this photo was captured on Main Street in Tazewell when crowds gathered to view an eclipse. On August 21, 2017, help us recreate this moment during the “Great American Eclipse”! This eclipse has gained nationwide attention as it will happen only in the USA and sweeps from coast to coast, an incredibly rare occurrence!
Main Street will be closed to thru traffic at 10:30 am briefly for the group photo. Tazewell County Historical Society is inviting the public to take part by joining us for this fun moment! Commemorative prints of the photos will be available for purchase as a fundraiser for TCHS.
Eclipse peak is at 2:37 pm, when our area will experience 93% totality. Pick up your eclipse viewing glasses at Tazewell County Public Library beginning August 1, while supplies last.
