The annual Pumpkin Carving Contest will be held on October 26, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion building.
All ages welcome!
Please bring your own pumpkin, cleaned out and ready to carve (but no carving outlines on the pumpkin).
Please bring your own carving tools.
There will be treat bags for kids and prizes for all!

Scouting For Food – Cub Scout Pack 93 in Tazewell on Saturday November 2nd From 10 AM -1 PM
On Saturday November 2nd from 10 AM – 1 PM, scouts and parents from Cub Scout Pack 93 will be located at Food Lion, Save-A-Lot, and Grants Supermarket in Tazewell to collect food and monetary donations which will then be given to the “A Child Shall Lead Them” food pantry.
Please support these Tazewell scouts and the local community by visiting one of these locations on November 2nd.
The annual Veteran’s Day Parade will be Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
Parade begins at Tazewell High School, ending with a ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial on Main Street in Tazewell. A meal will be served for the Veterans at the Main Street Methodist Church fellowship hall, on the corner of Main Street.
All area Veteran’s are invited to participate in the parade and meal. Transportation will be provided to any Veteran which is not able to walk the parade route. Any Veteran in the Tazewell, Bluefield, Pocahontas, and Richlands areas wishing to participate in the parade should contact their local VFW or American Legion Post to register or call Lynn @ (276)245-8993. Parade line up begins at 12:30 p.m.
This year the Veterans Parade Committee has teamed up with the USMC Toys for Tots Campaign and is asking all parade onlookers to bring a a toy and help provide a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. Toy collection spots will be strategically placed throughout the parade route, to collect donations.
Please, please help to USMC and Veterans Parade Committee make this toy collection campaign a great success!
Community involvement is vital to this parade. If any schools, individuals, churches, businesses, or other organizations wish to enter a float or participate in some other capacity, please contact us.
The parade committee would like to provide each participating Veteran with a commemorative t-shirt or hat, along with the meal and any monetary donations will be greatly appreciated. Anyone interested in making a donation should mail or drop it off at:
