2014 Donnie Lowe’s Kids Fish Day

The Tazewell Soil & Water Conservation District and the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors are planning an exciting, fun-filled day of fishing for children and their families. Youngsters from Tazewell County Communities are invited to come out to Lake Witten with their fishing poles, tackle boxes and bait and take part in the 2014 Tazewell County Kids in the Outdoors Day, Saturday, May 3rd . Gates will open at 9 A.M., educational booths by 10 A.M. and lunch begins at 10:30 A.M. From 10:30 – 1 P.M.
The Tazewell Soil & Water Conservation District has a strong commitment to the community’s natural resource education and is proud to host a memorable day of fishing for the kids and their families.

Come celebrate the riding season of 2014!

Schedule of events:
* June 13: Friday – Vendors & sponsors set up between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Come join us for live music, vendors & sponsors between 5:30 pm and 10:30 pm.
* June 14: Saturday – Parade 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Bike show conducted by Iron Titans Motorcycle Club 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Registration: $10.00 Trophy presentation: 3:00 pm
Vendors and sponsors will be available all day with motorcycles and sports cars on display.
Live music: 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
* June 15: Sunday – Jimmy Ramey Jr. Memorial Run conducted by the Tazewell County ABATE chapter. Please register at the ABATE Tent on June 13 and 14. Registration fee: $20.00 Run starts at the Tazewell High School front parking lot at 1:00 pm.
Admission Fee: $5.00 for two days or $3.00 per day. Children under 12yrs old free! $1.00 per ticket sold goes to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry.

American Legion Post 133 of Tazewell will have a flag retirement celebration at the Main Street mini park on Flag Day, June 14, at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out and see the proper way to retire an American flag. Support your American Legion Post by watching us take care of the symbol that means so much to veterans. To help or have a flag retired, call 276-988-5117 or give your flag to any VFW member.
The Town of Tazewell will be sponsoring a new and improved summer event called “Cruise In.”
Vintage cars and motorcycles will be on display on Main Street during various concerts that will be held on the Altizer Stage at 7:00 p.m. with food vendors available for the duration of the event. There will be fun for the entire family.
